Champion McGee, Nedral Lynn  
COTTONDALE | Nedral Lynn Champion McGee, age 55, of Cottondale, Alabama, passed away April 14, 2015, at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham. Service will be at 9 a.m. at First Wesleyan Church on April 18, 2015, with Pastor Joel Gorveatte and Pastor John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be April 17, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Jeryl Dean Champion. Survivors include her sons, James Marc McGee (Heather) and Jon Wesley McGee (Deana); brother, Nathan Champion (Krista); nieces, Allie and Mary Evelyn; father, James T. Champion; grandchildren, Emalee, Aiden, Ryder and Estes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nedral was born September 15, 1959, in Tuscaloosa to James and Jeryl Dean Champion. She graduated from Holt High School where she was known for her exceptional athletic abilities on the softball field and cheerleading squad. Most people knew her as a caregiver where she found her calling in nursing. Her compassionate and joyful heart made it hard for families, friends, and those she cared for to forget Nedral. Above all, her joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. In addition to helping others, she devoted her life to her two sons and their children. Her family and friends will miss her infectious laugh, radiating smile, and love for life most of all, and they pray her positivity and love for the Lord continues to bless and live through those whom she met and who knew her. Pallbearers will be Nick Bostick, Jeremy Brewer, Drew Estes, Chris Foster, Brett Hall, ___ Howard, Matt Hyche, Todd Johnson, Dusty Lee, Jason McGee, Mike McMillian, Ronnie McMillian, and Russell Sellers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of First Wesleyan Church; staff, co-workers, and close friends at NHS Management, LLC; and karaoke friends.

Jerry Seay officiating. Burial will be in the Old West Highland Cemetery with the Historical Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing. Visitation will be from 3 pm. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015, at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral time

MILLPORT | Irvin Conklan Jr., age 65, of Millport, Alabama, died April 11, 2015, at Generations of Vernon in Vernon, Alabama. Services will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 7 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Bro. Ed. Nabors officiating. Burial will follow in Kennedy City Cemetery with Dowdle Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Curry III, Benjamin Powell  
BIRMINGHAM | Benjamin Powell Curry, III, age 38, of Birmingham, Alabama, died April 11, 2015, at his parents' home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Carrollton United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim McCool officiating. A private burial will be held at Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benjamin Powell Curry, Sr. and Lillian Coty Curry and Norman and Margaret Murray. Survivors include sons, Benjamin Powell Curry IV and Charles Connor Curry; parents, Benjamin Powell Curry Jr. and Margaret Rebekah Murray Curry; the mother of his children, Ashley Curry; sister, Shelley Curry Vold (Aaron); and nieces Lillian and Lucille Vold. Ben was born February 2, 1977 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church and a sales representative for Dentsply-GAC in Birmingham. He was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. He was an avid outdoorsman and an outstanding athlete in high school. He was loved by all who knew him as was evidenced by so many friendships that spanned decades. As sad as we are to no longer have Ben with us on earth, we find comfort and joy in knowing he is home with his Heavenly Father. Pallbearers will be Jay Burkahlter, Dusty Sheppard, Brad Lang, David Pate, Brian Sparks, John Russell, Stuart Curry and Andy Hamlin. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pickens Academy 1994 State Championship Football team. There is a fund that has been set up for his children, Powell, 5, and Connor, 2.
