Jordan, Peter Wilson
Peter Wilson Jordan COTTONDALE | Peter ""Timmy"" Wilson Jordan, age 56, of Cottondale, died August 26, 2015, at home. Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Ray Hallman officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Wilson Jordan and grandparents, John Henry Jordan, Edna Cribbs Jordan, Peter McInnis and Lottie Jo McInnis. Survivors include his sister, Mary Jo Shinholster (Larry); brother, Johnny Jordan (Sandy); mother, Dorothy Jordan; uncle, Lawson McInnis; and numerous cousins. Peter Wilson, the youngest of Woody and Dorothy's three children, would never actually be called by his birth name. His older siblings let their parents know that if the new addition to the family was a boy his name was going to be Timmy, because at the time the show Lassie was popular and they had a dog named Lassie too. Just as most any parents would do, they brushed off their children's request and went with the name they had chosen for their son. Little did they know from the moment the baby came home from the hospital, Timmy would be his name and there was no changing it, regardless of what his birth certificate said. While growing up in Cottondale and going on to graduate from Holt High School, anyone that knew Timmy back then can tell he was always the jokester and class clown. None of that changed for him as the years went by. He loved telling a good joke, pulling a prank on someone and had the best of times playing and picking on his nieces and nephews, which he adored dearly. Timmy only knew of three seasons because he didn't count them by the months but instead by the things he enjoyed most. There was deer hunting season, NASCAR season and football season… and to him there was only one real football team and that was his Alabama Crimson Tide. He will be missed so very much by his family and friends. Pallbearers will be Steve McInnis, Ryan Whidby, Carey Miller, Mark McGee and Robert Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Cottondale Christian Church, employees at Warrior Asphalt, nieces and nephews.
