TUSCALOOSA | Virginia Glover Essary Durden, age 48, of Tuscaloosa, died July 22, 2015, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Bonner officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Durden; nephew, Dustin Utley; grandparents, J.C. and Annie Lou Glover, Carlos and Bertha Hamner, and W.H. and Bonnie Hollingsworth. Survivors include her daughter, Victoria Lunceford (JJ); Victoria's father, Charlie Essary,; step-daughter, Candace Fikes (Kyle); sisters, Terri Utley (James Hall) and Tunya Voegele (Chris); parents, David Glover (Kathy) and Janice Boler (Adrian Alexander); grandchildren, Hayden, Brylan, and Willow Lunceford and Cooper and Sadie Fikes; nieces and nephews, Monice Utley, Tyler, Zack, and Camryn Hayes, and Hunter Voegele. Virginia was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She loved spending time with family, music, singing, and playing ""Hay Day"" with Aunt Wanda, Aunt Terri, and her mom, Janice. She enjoyed being on the water and boating. She was a remarkable mother and grandmother who leaves behind a family that will cherish every moment spent with her. Her memory will live on in the loved ones that she left behind. She was my mother, my friend, and now my angel. Honorary pallbearers are Southside Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Southside Baptist Church in Fayette, AL 35555.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Eason; and sister, Sharon Snider. Survivors include her sons, Samuel D. (Carla) of Irondale, Ala., Gary L. (Debra) of Dora Ala.; and David (Tanya) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister, Jeri Burns; brother, Tony Burns; grandchildren, Stephen, Stephanie (Chandler), Keith (Tasha), Kayla (Lee), Hope, and Faith; and great- grandchildren, Samuel, Collier, Keilea, Elizabeth and Liam. VANCE | Margaret Tatum Goins, age 98, formerly of Coaling, Ala. passed away on July 13, 2015, after a long illness. A private family service officiated by Rev. Bart Latner was held on July 20, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hester B. Goins; her parents, George and Ina Tatum; sisters, Mildred Munkus and Mable Gray; brothers, Murray, Ward and Wesley Tatum. Survivors include a brother, William Tatum (Dot); daughters, Ann G. Oglesby (Pistol) and Jo Mitchell (Rex); four grandchildren, Bill Oglesby, Edwina, Jonathan, and David Mitchell; and a great-grandson, Ethan Oglesby. Mrs. Goins was a classroom teacher with the Tuscaloosa County School System for almost 40 years. She was a member of Coaling Baptist Church and a devoted Bible scholar, consistently applying its principles in daily life. She loved her Lord, her family, and teaching children. It was always her desire to be useful, to serve others, and make her personal contribution to the betterment of mankind. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Survivors include her sons, Steven Lee Harris (Darlene), Michael Lee Harris and Kenneth Lee Harris (Ann); sister, Judah Christine Taylor Heritage (Harold); brother, Frederick Ward Taylor, Jr. (Joan); and grandchildren, Michael Lee Graham, Jonathan Lee Harris (Becky) and James Frederick Harris. Hortense was born June 11, 1930 in the Pine Grove Community of Pickens County, Ala. to the late Frederick Ward Taylor, Sr. and Judah Eatoile Elizabeth Burgess Taylor. She was a member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church, a former retail sales clerk and a retired bookkeeper for Spiller Furniture in Reform, Ala. Honorary pallbearers will be the special caregivers, Annie King, Josephine Bonner, employees of Amedisys, Dr. Jim Gentry, staff of Pickens County Medical Center and DCH Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church, Attention: Gary Manning, 401 1st St. N. Reform, Alabama 35481.
