Christian, Louis Gaston - Coker  
NORTHPORT | Louis Gaston Christian, age 92, of Northport, died March 23, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Donaldson and Bro. Tim Tindle officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state ne hour prior to services at the church. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mildred D. Christian; daughter, Allison C. Ball (Anthony); son, Roger Darryl Christian (Donna); sister, Evelyn Winch; grandchildren, Shannon Dale (Charlie), Kelly Babb (Chris), Cheyanne Ball, and Gavin Christian; and great-grandchildren, Michaela Dale, Moriah Dale, Mia Dale, Spencer Babb, and Selah Babb. Mr. Christian was born in Tuscaloosa County on August 31, 1922. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from B.F. Goodrich, and was a long time active member and deacon of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Gary Newman, David Richardson, George Evans, Doug Smith, Eric Swanson, Roger Oglesby, and Daryl Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Early Risers Sunday School Class of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, past and present deacons of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Dr. Leonard Jones, special family friend and caregiver, Lynn Tucker, Earnest, Karen, and Marcus Hartley, Chris Bostic, John Bostic, staff of Hospice of West Alabama, nurses of DCH 6th Floor North, and staff of Amedisys. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church Children's Building Fund.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Tidwell. She is survived by her mother, Ruby Mae Maddox Tidwell of Winfield; two sons, Heath Clark of Northport and Ryan Clark (Angie) of Bankston; a daughter, Tia Clark of Winfield; five grandchildren, Devon, Lawson, and Hallie Clark, Kilee Webster and Karlee Clark; as well as a host of friends and other relatives.

WEST BLOCTON, Ala. | Thomas "Tom" Corbell, age 67, of West Blocton, went to meet his Lord on Monday, March 23, 2015. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with McCalla Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Mr. Corbell is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Corbell; sons, Shannon Ray Corbell and William Scott Corbell; brother, Lee Roy Corbell; sister, Ann Huffman; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his extended family, Junior Lemley, Debra Blake, Wayne Lemley and Jimmy Corbell. Thomas was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army. He was a very caring man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was a hard-working man who took care of his family and was loved by many.

TUSCALOOSA | Linda Hall Davidson, age 63, of Tuscaloosa, died March 26, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home with Mike Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hall and her 17 yr. old Yorkie, Sadie. Survivors include her husband, Mike Davidson; daughter, Traci Davidson, her adopted daughter, Sissy Owens; brother, Larry Hall; and her beloved dogs, Lucy and Bella. Linda peacefully passed away March 26, 2015 with family and loving friends by her side. She was loving, generous and a good friend to all. Her favorite things were pontoon boat rides on the lake, working in her flower beds and koi pond. Linda was a dedicated employee to the University of Alabama for 34 years. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1969 and married the love of her life and was happily married for 46 years. Her door was always open to friends for good times on Lake Tuscaloosa. She loved the summer trips to the beach which included numerous friends. Even though, she never had any sisters by blood she had many by choice, Beverly Etheridge, Betty Jo Wright, Cheryl Davis, Denise Jones, Lucy Taylor, and Judy Corder. The outpouring of love during her illness was greatly appreciated by the family. Pallbearers will be Rod Etheridge, Billy Jones, Rodney Doc" Brown, Jerry Wright, Andy Patton and Charlie Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. David Hinton, staff and nurses of Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, employees of Management & Marketing University of Alabama, Industrial Warehouse Services, Ron Dulek, Dr. Lee Thomas and Amy Williams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama, Northport First United Methodist Church and Lewis & Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
