Babs Collins

HUNTSVILLE Betty Margaret Faye Fulton “Babs” Collins, age 73, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, after a short illness with cancer.

Babs is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Walter “Chuck” Collins; daughter, Cheryl Collins “Cherry” Saint and her husband, Bobby, of Huntsville; sons, Charles Walter “Chuck” Collins Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Cottondale, and Christopher Scott Collins and his wife, Ashley, of Helena; grandchildren, Sarah Margaret “Sassy” Saint, Sarah Elizabeth Collins, and John Ross Collins; step-grandchildren, Mitchell Herron and Kimberly Leigh Howard and her husband, Anthony, and their daughter Emily Elizabeth; sister, Ivy Fulton Hill of Columbus, Mississippi; and twin brother, Billy Fulton of Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ross and Ruby Fulton, and a brother Danny Fulton, all of Steens, Mississippi.

Mrs. Collins was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She and her husband Chuck were married December 16, 1956, and settled in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They were owners of Chuck Collins Studio, a nationally recognized portrait studio specializing in portraits of children. Mrs. Collins worked closely with her husband as a photography team for 45 years until their retirement in 2006. The Collins are now residents of Huntsville, Alabama.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Huntsville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children.
