Cecil D. Gregory

FOSTERS Cecil D. Gregory, age 96, of Fosters, died June 19, 2013, at VA Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Mike Griffin and Don Springer officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Etta Gregory of Romulus.

Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Gregory of Fosters; sons, Thomas Gregory (Patty) of Fosters, and Steve Gregory (Dianne) of Northport; grandchildren, Brian Gregory of Tuscaloosa, Christy Gregory of Fosters, Lisa Hollingsworth (Shane), Steven Gregory Jr., and Meg Ballard (Matt) all of Northport; and great-grandchildren, Ayden and Ava Kate Hollingsworth, and Mayson and Madison Hubbard.

Cecil Gregory was born January 10, 1917 in Romulus, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hogan in World War II. He was a member of Grants Creek Baptist Church and served as Deacon and other positions. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich for 32 years.

Pallbearers will be Brian Gregory, Steven Gregory, Shane Hollingsworth, and Matt Ballard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the "Ava Kate Fund", c/o Children's Hospital of Birmingham, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
