NORTHPORT Danny F. Gordon, age 65, of Northport, died September 27, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Services will be 11 a.m. today, October 1, 2013, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Brother James Haskins officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery in Northport with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Marie Gordon and his son, Kevin Gordon.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Adams Gordon of Northport; daughters, Stacy Gordon Faught (Clay) of Northport and Debbie Gordon Ditto (Mike) of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Wanda Burns (Terry) of Water Valley, Miss., and Angie Fiveash (Neil) of Marietta, Ga.; and grandchildren, Austin Faught, Emily Faught, Devan Ditto, and Mikayla Ditto.
Danny was born in Water Valley, Miss. on June 25, 1948 and was a graduate of the University of Mississippi.
His natural ability to listen and talk with others lead to a 35 year career with Orgill, Inc. He was also part owner of Five Points Hardware.
Danny was notorious for his long conversations, debates, history lessons, bible lessons, and family stories.
Some of his greatest joys were grandchildren, Ole Miss football and spending time with others.
Danny will be missed by all that knew him for his generosity and influential personality.
Pallbearers will be Frank Collins, Gerry Sowell, Chris Purser, Butch Thomas, Terry Burns, and Neil Fiveash.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Orgill, Inc., Five Points Hardware, and the many people who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
