KENNEDY Myrtle Duncan Bostick, age 81, of Kennedy, died Oct. 3, 2012, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Moores Bridge Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Smith and Rev. Larry Bonner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Saturday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.S. "Cebo" Bostick; her parents; her sisters, Exie Mae Sullivan, Elizabeth Snow Farr, and Dena K. Coleman; and her brothers, Earnest B. Duncan Jr., Tandy K. Duncan, and Modester B. Duncan.
Survivors include her brother, Asa Lee Duncan; special sister, Angeous Henson; special caregiver, Bama Farr; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bostick was born October 31, 1930, in the Moores Bridge community of Pickens County, Alabama to the late Earnest B. Duncan Sr. and Alabama Sullivan Duncan. She was a member of Moores Bridge Baptist Church, a homemaker, and a retired employee of Ed Salem's Restaurant.
Myrtle was a loving wife and a wonderful sister and aunt. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children, and they cherished her in return. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Duncan, Nathan Weickardt, Will Christian, Duncan Cook, David Cook, Shawn Sullivan, John R. Brown, Rob Wiggins, Forrest Mills, Michael Mills, and Tyler Norris.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Moores Bridge Baptist Church and Peggi Johnson.
