William S. "Stan" Collins

MASSILLON, OHIO | William S. "Stan" Collins, 69, of Plain Twp., passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014, following an extended illness.
He was born in Columbia, Miss., on January 31, 1945, to the late Carl G. and Marjorie L. (Graham) Collins, Sr.
Stan was a veteran of the United States Army. He had retired from The Kroger Company and was working as a manager for Walmart in the Stark County area.
He was an avid Alabama fan. When it came to football or basketball the Crimson Tide flowed through his body. Stan was an avid sports fan of all types and loved spending time with his family. When he was younger he was a very good water skier.
Stan is survived by his wife, Beth E. (Friedley) Collins, whom he married on May 16, 1987; his son, William S. "Stan" (Jacquelynn) Collins II of Sanford, Fla.; grandson, Blaze Landon Collins; three brothers, David, Phil, and Desi Collins; a sister Angie Little.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Collins, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Open Door Baptist Church in Canton, Ohio, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery in Marion, Ohio with Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory of Massillon, Ohio, 330-833-3222, is in charge of arrangements.
