James Clardy Obituary

FAYETTE James Edward Clardy, age 85, of Fayette, died Feb. 3, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Carl Sullivan and Rev. John Kitchens officiating. Burial will follow in Covin Baptist Church Cemetery with Nelson Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joyce Rowland Clardy; sister, Virginia Ballinger; and brother, Thurman Clardy.

Survivors include his daughter, Loranette Collier (James); sons, Harlan Clardy (Debbie), Dwain Clardy (Pam), Dennon Clardy (Rita), and Randall Clardy (Sabrina); sister, Mary Faye Parden (Tommy); brothers, Bob Clardy (Nila) and J.D. Clardy (Fran); sister-in-law, Willa Dean Clardy; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harlan Clardy, Dwain Clardy, Dennon Clardy, and Randall Clardy.

Honorary pallbearers are his son-in-law, James Collier Jr., and grandsons, Trey Collier, Steve Barrett, Brandon Rice, Gifford Haynes, and Darrell, Ryan, Eric, Evan, and Preston Clardy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Covin Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
