He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended flight school at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. While stationed in Pensacola, he met Betty Jean Holmes of Brewton, Alabama, and they were married in Brewton in 1952 after he was commissioned as a Naval officer. Mr. Krusmark served as a Navy aircraft carrier pilot during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955 with the rank of lieutenant j.g. My thoughts and prayers are with Nana and family. Papa will be greatly missed, although I am certain he is smiling down from heaven on all of us now. I feel blessed that I was given the opportunity to know him. The love that Nana and Papa share is an inspiration to us all.

I know that mom thought of her little brother as a Wyoming boy but he always seemed to me to be the perfect southern gentlemen, kind, strong and handsome. Love to you all.

I remember Uncle Karl as kind and gentle, but with a sparkle in his eye. Over the last few years he was looking more and more like his father. I enjoyed my visit with him and Betty in Demopolis a couple of years ago. My condolences and love to his family.
