Emma Gray Obituary

TUSCALOOSA Emma Mae Clements Gray, age 54, of Tuscaloosa, passed away April 27, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor L.W. Bonner officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Williams Service Funeral Home directing. Viewing will be today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with family visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

In route to her heavenly home, Emma was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lucille Duncan Epes and Sherman Clements; maternal grandparents, Hattie Graham Pearson and Charlie Duncan; paternal grandparents, Mary Bell Clements and George Clements; and dearest nephew, Derrick Lamar Harris.

She leaves to cherish cheerful memories a wealth of family and friends, including sisters, Juanita Harris Bell (Lee) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ruby Harris Simon (Johnny) of Tuscaloosa, Linda Harris Brown (Gregory) of Tuscaloosa, Jurl Scroggins (Jessie) of Tuscaloosa, Melody Bell of Tuscaloosa, Shirley J. Rice of Tuscaloosa, and Renae Clements of New York; brothers, Levi Harris (Bobbie) of Hendersonville, Tenn., Willie Harris of Tuscaloosa, George Harris (Candace) of Tuscaloosa, and Sherman Clements Jr. of New York; special father, Curtis Adams; dearest companion, Arthur Burton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be her brothers-in-law and nephews.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and other staff of DCH Intensive Care Unit at DCH Regional Medical Center, especially Dr. Lopez, Dr. Edge, Dr. Simpson, and Dr. Cribble; nurses, Lauren, John, Donna, Elise, Amy, Tracy, Iris, Stacy, Jak; and others whose names we are unable to recall at this time.
