GORDO Edward "Eddie" Arnold, age 81, of Gordo, died Aug. 14, 2010, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Damon Rose and Rev. Danny Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Arnold; son, James Edward Arnold; great-granddaughters, Misty Arnold and Sara Ann Carr; and his parents, Jim and Alice Thompson.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Poole (Kenny) of Gordo, Ala.; sons, Jimmy Lee Arnold (Ann) of Gordo, Ala. and Milas S. Arnold (Pamela) of Gordo, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Cody Arnold (Brittany), Lacey Arnold, Lana Pickrell (Mike), Chelisha Pate (Ken), Detra Carr, Jimmy "Bobo" Quimby and Sabrina Tierce; six great-grandchildren, Jason Carr, Shannon Tierce, Logan Boyd, Ryan Justiss, Chloe Lois Pickrell and Kennedy Pickrell; and a number of cousins.
Mr. Arnold was born October 19, 1928, in Bibb County, Alabama. He attended Gordo Church of God of Prophecy and was a retired employee of the state of Alabama at Bryce Hospital with 25 years of service. Eddie was also owner and operator of Arnold's Used Cars for 30 years and a well known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy "Bobo" Quimby, Cody Arnold, Mike Pickrell, David Harcrow, Jason Carr and Rodney Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Gordo Church of God of Prophecy, Bill Higginbotham, Dr. Drake Lavender, Dr. Catherine Skinner, Pickens County Medical Center nurses and staff, Leon Fair, Billy Joe Gay, Elmer Smith, James Smith, Clarence Marlowe, Sam Strickland, Ray McDaniel, Junior Abrams and Earl Spain.
