TUSCALOOSA Eva Jane Medders Allen, age 95, of Tuscaloosa, died August 24, 2012 at Regency Retirement Village of Tuscaloosa (formerly Skyland Oaks Retirement Village). Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa with Brother John Vaughan officiating.. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Allen was born May 17, 1917, in Bibb County, Alabama to the late Mack Medders and Bessie Woods Medders. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church,

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Edward (Ed) Allen and Jefferson J. (Jeff) Allen; daughter, Betty Allen Reece; son-in-law, John J. Reece; brother, Carlton Medders; sisters, Alice M. James, Kathleen M. James, Mildred M, Hayes, Audrey M. Foster, and Etoile M. Wedgeworth.

Survivors include sons, Richard C. Allen (Pat), James E. (Jimmy) Allen, Jr. (Betty); grandson, Richard R. (Ricky) Allen (Leigh); great-grandchildren, Kaylee Allen and Lawson Allen, all of Tuscaloosa; sister-in-law Ouita Livingson of Tuscaloosa; brother-in-law, Roy Foster of Coaling; stepchildren, Robert J. Allen (Joanne) of Athens, Ala., Dennis J. Allen (Nancy) of Lutz, Fla., Patricia J. Booth (Doug) of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; step-grandchildren, Karen M. Harris (Patrick) of Atlanta, Ga., Diane M. Allen of Franklin, Tenn., Scott J. Allen (Victoria), of Fairfax, Va., Brett Allen, and Casey Allen of Lutz, Fla., Kevin Crews (Bonnie) of Crossville, Tenn.; step- great-grandchild, Layla Allen of Fairfax, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Allen, David Allen, David Avery, Jerry Watts, Billy Foster, and Billy Bane.

Honorary pallbearers will be residents of Regency Retirement Village of Tuscaloosa (previously Skyland Oaks Retirement Center).

The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff of Regency Retirement Village and Skyland Oaks, Dr. John Summerford and staff, Dr. David Hinton, and Dr. Curtis Tucker and staff of DCH Cancer Treatment Center, Hospice of West Alabama, and caregivers Francine Cherry and Terri Terry for the care given to Eva Allen.
