TUSCALOOSA - Freda Coy Watson Cummings passed away June 7, 2018, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Freda was born in Commerce, Texas on December 10, 1940.
A service to celebrate her life and love of Jesus Christ will be held at Northport Free Will Baptist Church on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Baumgarten officiating.
Freda Coy was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Perry Watson and Opal Shepherd; her loving husband, Gary Cummings; son, Michael (Tony) Madison, daughter, Daphne Ann Madison; and sister, Bonnie (Pigeon) Watson Upton.
She attended Tuscaloosa High School and worked at Gulf States Paper Corp. Freda was a member of the Tuscaloosa Moose Lodge.
Freda Coy is survived by her beloved sons, Mark Madison and Perry Madison (Kimberly Adcox, daughter-in-law and friend); grandchildren, Drew Madison, Jesse Madison, and Zachary Madison, of Northport, Alabama. She is also survived by her sisters, Annie Mae Watson Lee of Holt, Alabama and Mollie Lee Watson McKenzie of Atlanta, Georgia; step-children, Craig Cummings of Tennessee, Kim Gardner, Jimmy Cummings, and Karla Zimmerman of Florida.
Freda Coy's legacy continues through the lives of her step-children, cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends, and Honey Pot, her beloved cat.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Northport Free Will Baptist Costa Rica Missions Trip fund, 2401 Lurleen Wallace Blvd., Northport, AL 35473.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many physicians and nurses for their kindness and compassion during her illness.
