Gladys Poole was born February 11, 1928. She enjoyed working as a nursing assistant for 22 years at DCH, where she made numerous friends. Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to so many. She enjoyed listening to gospel and country music, growing flowers and working in her yard.
Gladys always enjoyed traveling with the church group and the weekend trips she would take with her sisters. Gladys not only said she loved her family, she made us feel it. She never quit worrying or taking care of us. She showed such love, compassion and strength to both her children and grandchildren always.
In the true difficult times, she would always say ''we have to love them through it".
Gladys was a wonderful mother and "granny" and will be greatly missed. Our hearts are hurt and broken but we smile because she is at peace.
The family extends special appreciation to special friends and caretakers, Debra Mullenix, Barbara Todd, Moundville Health & Rehab and Hospice of West Alabama.
Pallbearers are Hunter McJenkin, Barry Winters, Ricky Jones, Darrin Jones, Gary Jones and Jeff Poole.
