CARROLLTON Joe Wayne Bain, age 70, of Carrollton, died March 17, 2010, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services were held 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Springhill Baptist Church with Rev. Bert Noland officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Rubye Gates Bain of Carrollton, Ala.; his sons, Jerome W. Bain (Shelly) of Carrollton, Ala. and Keith N. Bain (Donna) of Carrollton, Ala.; his sister, Barbara Wicker of Northport, Ala.; and four grandchildren, Julie, Jenna, Carrington, and Clark.
Mr. Bain was born June 25, 1939, in Gurley, Alabama to the late Aus Hinds Bain and Ollie Mae Godwin Bain. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, a retired employee of General Tire/Omnova and a well-known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers were Timmy Gates, Gerald Gates, Findley Wicker, Jim Godwin, Orville Godwin, and Roy Bain.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Ben Curry, administration and executive boards and staff of Pickens County Medical Center, and the board of directors and staff of HELP, Inc.
