TUSCALOOSA Kenneth D. “Cat” Griffin, age 84, of Tuscaloosa, died November 9, 2013, at the V.A. Hospital. Services will be 12 noon Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Corder officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the chapel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ellie Keaton Griffin, and his infant sister Mary Evelyn.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 56 years, Wanda Crump Griffin, his daughters, Sheilah Griffin (Bob Hale), of Cartersville, Ga., and LaJuana Griffin Minor (Brian), of Birmingham; his son, Stanley Jackson Griffin, of Tuscaloosa; his sister, Jean Griffin Wright (Richard), of Summerfield, Fla.; his brothers, Rev. James E. Griffin (Helen), of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jerry A. Griffin (Brenda), of Tuscaloosa; and his grandchildren, Kayla Rae Minor, of Nashville, Tenn., and Dylan Griffin Minor, of Birmingham.

Kenneth will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends. He was the same kind and easygoing man “yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” After graduating from Holt High School, he joined the army. When he came home from his tour in Hawaii, he worked with B.F. Goodrich for fourteen years. He left there to purchase DeLuxe Cleaners which he operated for a number of years. When he “retired,” he spent several years working with his brother, Jerry, at Jerry's Cleaners before he actually resigned to stay home at the age of 80 years old. He still could not stop working, so he took up yard work, household chores, and became a very good cook. He was a faithful member of Alberta Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was an active member of the Rembert Davis Sunday School Class.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Minor, Bob Hale, Brian Philpot, Vince Griffin, Heath Griffin, and Roy Brown.

Honorary pallbearers are the Rembert Davis Sunday School Class, Jimmy and Clara Warren, Paul and Catherine Hall, Jerry and Kathryn Johnston, Amos and Ann Cupp, Dan and Linda Turner, Neighbors of Katelyn subdivision, Dr. John Summerford, and Dr. Wesley Spruill.

Donations may be made to Alberta Baptist Church or any .
