TUSCALOOSA - Kimberly Parker Lamb, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away on August 9th, 2018. Services will be held Monday, August 13th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with a visitation beforehand from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Dr. John Kearns will officiate the ceremony. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hugh Parker of Tuscaloosa and her sister, Kathy Parker Martin of Conroe, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Col. (Ret) Duane A. Lamb; son, Maj. Lindsey D. Lamb (Simoné) of Florida; daughters, Angela Lamb Beard (Brad) of Atlanta and Hannah Lamb McPhillips (Jay) of Tuscaloosa; sister, Kelly Parker of North Carolina; brother, James Hugh Parker II (Kim) of Tuscaloosa; and seven beautiful and loving grandchildren.
Kim was born in 1955 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a nurse by profession but her life revolved around being an incredible wife and mother, but an even more remarkable grandmother, known affectionately as Gram. She loved to travel with her family and especially spend time at their cabin in North Carolina. She was the epitome of a quintessential military spouse (USAF), serving our country alongside her husband, Duane, for 30 years. They raised a family of three children moving across the United States to Texas, Arizona, California, Nebraska, Virginia, and Alabama.
She was truly a beautiful person, inside and out, and was loved more than she could ever know. If everyone worked as hard as she did at putting others before herself, and loving with her whole heart, then the world would be a better place. She had a servant's heart and there was little she wouldn't do for anyone who was in need. She will be missed fiercely by everyone who loves her, but our hearts are at peace knowing that she is now home with our Lord.
Pallbearers will be Lindsey Lamb, Brad Beard, Jay McPhillips, Eike Busch, Jamie Parker, and Randy Martin.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Children's Program at the Child Research Development Center at the University of Alabama or the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club Honor Flight program.
