COLLINSVILLE Marlin Orman Cummings Sr., age 84, of Collinsville, formerly of Carrollton, Ala., died Jan. 31, 2013, at Marshall Medical Center in Boaz, Ala. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Sapps, with Rev. Billy Little officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Sapps, with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Cummings; parents; and brother, James Cummings.
Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Martin (Julie) of Gordo, Ala., Carl Martin (Penny) of Brooksville, Miss., and Marlin Orman Cummings Jr. (Elata) of Collinsville, Ala.; sisters, Margaret Barnes of Pascagoula, Miss., Linda Blakney of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Norma Richardson (Charles) of York, Ala., Mary Joyce Trapp (Dewey) of Aliceville, Ala.; brothers, Olan Cummings (Helen) of Columbus, Miss., Richard Cummings (Mary Sue) of Sapps, Ala., Ronnie Cummings (Laurie) OF Sapps, Ala., Jerry Cummings (Jeanelle) of Columbus, Miss., Ben Cummings (Betty) of Memphis, Tenn., and Herman Cummings (Naomi) of Texas; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Mr. Cummings was born on September 13, 1928, in Pickens County, Alabama, to the late Benjamin Franklin Cummings and Lillie Mae Speed Cummings. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a retired employee of Huyck Felt Company in Aliceville, Ala., a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a well known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Carl L. Martin Jr., Jesse Box, Tommy Martin, Michael Martin, Vince Carter, Rick Lowery, and Frank Blakney.
