NORTHPORT Michael "Tater Bug" Taylor, age 57, of Northport, died April 19, 2013, in an unfortunate accident. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roger Lucas and Pastor Andrew Haire officiating with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funereal Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Almous C. Taylor and Jinnie Mae (Nichols) Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn McCool Taylor of Northport; daughters, Vicki Geer (Chris) of Holt and Kim Grammer of Northport; special sister-in-law, Marilyn Johnson of Cottondale; brothers, Gary Taylor (Woolie Mae) and Aaron Taylor (Ellen) of Fayette; grandchildren, Ashley Haire (Andrew) of Kentucky.; Jordan and Tori Geer of Holt; Brandon Shelby of Northport; Brantley Sims of Northport; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Michael was a loving, caring husband, dad, and granddaddy. He was employed by Gray's Trucking for over 15 years. He always had a smile on his face and a caring heart. He will be missed by all.
Honorary pallbearers are Laura Boatner, Tammy Sellers, and employees of Gray's Trucking, DCH Home Healthcare, Michael Ballard, Larry Boatner, Juanita Jacobs, James Crocker, and neighbors of Booth Estates.
