Dear Trice Family,
I was so sad to hear that Dr. Trice had passed away. I have such wonderful memories of him all through out my childhood, not only as a compassionate pediatrician, but as Dan's dad and "Dr. Bump" at swim meets. He was a true southern gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

Dr. Trice was a patient and kind practioner of pediatrics. As a physician, his skill and compassion were unequaled. His leadership extended to the fostering the learning of many nursing students at DCH School of Nursing. As my mothers (Madge Daniel)friend, and my siblings and my pediatrician, he was loved and admired. Dr Trice, you will be missed.

What a true southern gentleman and awesome pediatrician!! My mother tells the story of how Dr. Trice stayed up all night with me in the hospital as a baby because I was so dehydrated. He stayed by my bedside and encouragied them. What dedication and compassion! Believe me.... I know we were not special but he made my parents feel special and like I was even more special. I'm sure there are many more stories like this ! It was amazing that he still remembered his patients and enjoyed "seeing" them in his latter years, although his vision was poor . What a legacy!

Dr Trice was the very best pediatrician ever. All 3 of our children were his patients. Both of our boys"initiated" him at there first visit and that is a memory of a lifetime. He just laughed it off. To the family, our family considered him not only a fantastic doctor, but a dear friend. Our prayer is that God's love and care will be upon your family in the days and weeks ahead. He will be missed by so many for sure. God Bless.

Amy,

May God be close to you and your family during this time of the loss of your father. I did not grow up in Tuscaloosa and thus never had the pleasure of having Dr. Trice as a pediatrician, but from reading the rest of the tributes he sounds a lot like my family doctor from Massachusetts who had an unmatched bedside manner, often went out of his way to drive patients to the hospital (like my father) when they needed to be admitted, and passed away shortly before his 90th birthday.

May you be comforted by your memories and the support of your family and friends and the large community of Dr. Trice's former patients and co-workers.

To the family of Dr. Trice,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. I remember the many times I went as a child to Dr. Trice. Though it was many years ago, I remember him as a very gentle doctor. If I could have kept him as my doctor for all times I would have. He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. Dr. Trice was our family pediatrician and I regretted reaching the age of having to see a doctor for adults. He had such a kind and gentle manner and was so reassuring to children during times of sickness and fear.

Dr. Trice was my Pediatrician. He cared for and treated myself, and two brothers. We loved him dearly and I seen him a year ago and he remembered my name. I truly wish he would have been able to practice to give my daughter the same kind of gentle care as he gave all his patients. I Love you Dr. Trice and you will be greatly missed but gallently remembered.

Mrs. Trice and family,
I am so sorry for the loss. He was truly one of the best Doctors I have ever known. On one occassion, my niece was very sick and he came out of the office, jumped in the car with them and rode to the hospital. That is a caring doctor. Thanks Dr Trice for taking care of my children and my nieces and nephews for so many years.

I am saddened to hear of the death of Dr. Trice. I worked for him from 1965 - 1968, and he was one of the most caring, kind people I've ever known. On the first day of my job, I remember him asking that a child's mother be called so he could see how that child was doing following his recent office visit. That's how caring he was. He didn't wait to be called, he would check on his patients himself. May God bless and comfort all of his family members and friends mourning his loss.
