REFORM Robert Bob Douglas Pate, age 75, of Reform, died March 9, 2013, peacefully in his sleep at his residence. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Finney and Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gay Crowe Pate; his parents; and his sister, Peggy Pate Hanson.
Survivors include daughters, Ronda Pate Shirley (Randall) of Gordo, Ala., and Tanya Pate Ray (Chris) of Gordo, Ala.; sisters, Betty Kelley (Hubert) of Reform, Ala., Jean Duncan of Ethelsville, Ala., and Ann Coats (Wayne) of Coker, Ala.; brothers, Billy Ray Pate (Nellie Faye) of Reform, Ala., and Butch Pate (Glenda) or Reform, Ala.; brothers-in-law, Billy Crowe (Sylvia) of Forrest Hill, Calif., and Kenneth Crowe of Hanceville, Ala.; grandchildren, Jordan Rae Shirley, Kayla Lynn Perrigin, Alanna Kate Ray, and Amanda Elizabeth Ray; number of special nieces and nephews; and special caregivers: Debbie Driver, Reba Shirley, Leona and Jimmy Carroll, Jane Cobb, Charlotte Anderson, Candi Sudduth, and Sandi Lockhart.
Robert Bob Pate was born May 13, 1937, in Reform, Alabama to the late Robert Raymond Pate and Ethel Bonner Pate. He was a saw miller for Lewis Brothers Lumber Company, a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired U.S. Air National Guardsman. Mr. Pate was a Charter Member of The Disciples New Beginning Church in Reform, Ala., and a well-known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Ricky Cummings, Danny Joe Kelley, Kendall Coats and special friends: Leonard Hudson, Richie Price, Paul Agerton, Terry Bibee, and Benji Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers are Gordo CVS pharmacy employees, doctors and employees of Gordo Family Practice, doctors and employees of Pickens County Home Health and Therapy, with special thanks to: Lisa, Cathy, Jesse and Lance, doctors and employees of Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center at DCH, members of The Disciples New Beginning Church and members of Sand Springs United Methodist Church in Gordo.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center at DCH, 809 University Blvd. East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
