COTTONDALE Roger Glenn Morrison, age 60, of Cottondale, died Nov. 26, 2012, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Maggie Morrison, and his brothers, Ellis Morrison and Terry Morrison.
Survivors include his daughter, Christy Strickland (Blake) of Tuscaloosa; his sons, Glenn Morrison (Kelly) of Tuscaloosa, Jeremy Morrison (Rachael) of Northport, and Shannon Morrison of Tuscaloosa; his brothers, Richard Morrison (Juanita), Larry Morrison (Cherry), and Dennis Morrison (Valerie), all of Cottondale; and his grandchildren, Christy's children Alyssa, Emily, and Hunter Strickland, Glenn's children Hayden and Gracie Morrison, and Jeremy's daughter Katherine Morrison.
Roger grew up in Cottondale and graduated from Holt High School in 1971. He served proudly and honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. While in the Marines, he married Jan, his wife of 37 years. After serving his country, Roger worked for Barnett Transportation, where he was a dedicated employee for over 30 years. He loved spending time in the outdoors and spent many weekends camping with the Boy Scout Troop 204. Roger was loved and cherished by his children, grandchildren, and brothers, as well as a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Brian Morrison, Ronny Morrison, Brett Morrison, Josh Morrison, Scott Quinn, John Harper, and Shane Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy and Helen McDaniel, Richard Burn, Tony and Katherine Miller, employees of Barnett Transportation, and Holt High School Class of 1971.
