TUSCALOOSA Wanda Harris Mysinger, age 85, of Tuscaloosa, died April 28, 2013, at home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville C. Harris, and her sister, Jane Ellen Boyd, all of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and her youngest son, Jim Lee Mysinger, Esq., of Montgomery, Ala.
Survivors include her sons, Michael L. Mysinger of Tuscaloosa and Dr. Pat Winford Mysinger (Dr. Monica Ruth); and her grandchildren, Kathryn Michelle Mysinger Jones and Claire Elizabeth Mysinger Key of Tuscaloosa, Nathan Will Landrum, Emily Kay Mysinger, Miranda Rene Mysinger, and Abby Marie Mysinger, Michael McCloud Mysinger of Los Angeles, Calif., and Meredith Mysinger Walker of Seattle, Wash.
Wanda was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on February 21, 1928. Her first 14 years in Tuscaloosa, Alabama were spent as Legal Secretary for Attorney William D. Partlow Jr. until joining the University of Alabama secretarial staff in 1975 as Assistant to the Director of Special Events. From 1976 to 1990, she served as Executive Secretary and Administrative Specialist to the Assistant Academic Vice-President and Dean of the Graduate School. She trained and mentored many of the young people, both employees and students alike.
Her strong character and engaging personality made her a favorite in the Tuscaloosa tennis community. Wanda's great capacity to love was experienced by her family and by the many who came to know and love her.
