BIRMINGHAM William Mike Alexander, age 64, of Birmingham, died Oct. 27, 2010, at Birmingham East Nursing and Rehabilitation. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with J. Wayne Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail, and his mother, Mable Alexander.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Alexander; a daughter, Melissa Alexander Beebe (Marty); a brother, Charles C. Alexander; his father, Bill Alexander, Jr.; and grandchildren, Alex and Laura Gail Beebe.
Mike was a member at Heritage Place Church of Christ in Irondale, Ala. He served as deacon for many years at Central Church of Christ in Tuscaloosa, Ala. While at Central, he and Nancy served as house-parents for their foster home. He retired after 27 years from B.F. Goodrich. His hobbies included playing bass guitar in the Bama Bluegrass Band, country music for PARA, and the Tuscaloosa Opry, and bass fishing. He was an avid Alabama sports fan.
