COKER Dixie George Baggett, age 83, of Coker, died Jan. 25, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Coker Cemetery with Rev. Jearl Hunley officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Ed Baggett, and parents, Seddon Abbott Dick George and Jessie Betts George.
She is survived by her cousins, friends, and church family.
Dixie was born in Coker and lived there most of her life. She was active in church and community affairs. Dixie graduated from TCHS in 1946 and business school in 1948, spending most of her working life in bookkeeping and office management. Dixie was an active member of Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church, serving as elder, clerk of session, choir member, and Sunday school teacher. She was also active in Cumberland Presbyterian women's ministry, receiving a 50 year Golden Patron award certificate for serving in that organization.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sunil Chandra and the doctors, nurses, and staff of DCH Regional Medical Center MICU (3rd Floor) for their excellent care and compassion during Dixie's stay in the ICU.
