TUSCALOOSA Madge Susie Cyr Daniel, age 91, of Tuscaloosa, died Jan. 22, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Vaughan and Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Greg Daniel.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas W. Bo Daniel Jr.; her daughter, Cindy D. Tidmore (Mike); her sons, Chip Daniel (Mary) of Virginia and Dana Daniel of Ohio; her sisters-in-law, Jeannette Bowden, Sara Brooks, and Annette Culp, all of Montgomery; her grandchildren, Shannon Miller, Tiffany Collins, Brian Daniel, Chris Daniel, Amber Daniel, and Aaron Daniel; and seven great-grandchildren.
Originally from Aurora, Ill., she served as an Army Nurse in World War II from 1945 to 1948. She married her husband of 64 years in 1948. She graduated with degrees in nursing and teaching. She was actively involved in Cub Scouts of America and received several awards. She taught nursing at DCH School of Nursing from 1957 to 1978, and worked as a Nurse Epidemiologist for DCH Regional Medical Center from 1977 to 1993. After retiring, she enjoyed camping in motor homes, watching Alabama football, playing bridge, walking daily with special friends, and spending time with family.
Pallbearers will be Trent Collins, Tag Daniel, Maury Musgrove, Jeff Sprague, Bob Sterenburg, and Rusty Ward.
Honorary pallbearers are past and present employees of DCH Regional Medical Center, past faculty and students of DCH School of Nursing, Dr. Brian Wilhite, Amedisys Home Health, staff and friends of Pine Valley Assisted Living, special bridge friends, Regina Kirkland, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DCH Foundation or Caring Days.
