NORTHPORT | Betty Drummond Williams, of Northport, passed away on February 2, 2014, from an extended illness. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnny Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brady Montgomery; her first husband, George W. Drummond; her sisters, Mrs. Opal Clements and Mrs. Jean Lash; and her grandson, Bryan Bergob.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. L.D. Williams; her children, Teresa Bergob (Tom) and Richard Drummond (Ellen); four granddaughters, Heather Gruber (Michael), Jennifer Bergob, Laura and Megan Drummond; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Williams was reared in the Samantha community and graduated from Gorgas High School. She was a lifelong resident of Northport, a member of Northport Baptist Church and the Howell Sunday School class. She enjoyed traveling and never met a stranger. She was an excellent cook and loved playing Rook with the card girls.
The family would like to thank the staff of Forest Manor, Hospice of West Alabama, and Gail Major for their care of Mrs. Williams.
