TUSCALOOSA | Norma Owen Strouss, age 89, passed away on April 15, 2014.

She is predeceased by her husband, William S. Strouss; her parents, Rosa and Henry Norman Owen; two brothers, Samuel D. Owen and Henry N. Owen (Sarah Taylor); and one sister, Mary Lou Owen, all of Atlanta, Ga.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Linda Patterson (Jeff) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Gayle Blackerby (Steve) of Raleigh, N.C., William "Bill" Strouss (Loretta) of Birmingham, Ala., and Bonnie Feniger (Bruce) of Carmel, N.Y. Norma is survived by eleven grandchildren, Lani Grove (Dylan), Curt and Scott Patterson, Evan Blackerby (Heather Royall), Abigail Blackerby Mattis (Michael) and Caitlin Blackerby, Lauren, Cameron and Erin Strouss, Leah and Will Feniger; and grandson-in-law, Jonathan Smitherman. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Grace Riane Smitherman, Jude Shaw Blackerby, Lucy Boone Blackerby, Eve Elizabeth Mattis, and Stephen Michael Mattis; niece and nephews Alice Owen Gardner (Dan), David Owen (Linda), and Norman Owen (Masami).
A memorial service will be held at Huffman United Methodist Church in Birmingham on Monday, June 2, 2014, with the Rev. Penny Ford officiating. The family will receive visitors in the Parlor at 2:00 pm, with the service in the Sanctuary at 3:00pm.
An online Book of Memories will be collected by Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home Northport, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Focus on Senior Citizens of Tuscaloosa County.
