TUSCALOOSA Willie L. Turner, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, died Feb. 12, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. J. Carroll Jones officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Edna Turner; wife, Mabel Turner; and brother, Gene Turner.
Survivors include his daughters Linda Smelley, Debbie Barr (Gary), Pamela Roberts (Joel), and Darlene Hall (David); Sons, Willie Turner (Patty), Jeffery Turner (Joyce), Troy Turner (Leslie), and Anthony Turner; sisters, Judy Chance, Edna May Whitehead, and Catherine Haynes; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Willie was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devoted Christian and loved his church and church family. His greatest wish for anyone was to be saved and know the Lord as their savior.
Pallbearers will be Luke Smelley, Charlie Smelley, Christopher Oswalt, Jeremy Oswalt, Adam Barr, Jared Turner, and Troy Turner.
Honorary pallbearers are Tuscaloosa Nephrology, Dr. David Hinton, Dr. Chandra, Dr. Joseph Fritz, John and Joyce Edgeworth, Jim and Betty Elmore, Lorene Farley, Chester and Odene Sanford, Mike and Brenda Burns, Ralph and Gladys Tunnell, The Waysider Restaurant, and Robertson's Chapel Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Robertson's Chapel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 262 Northport, AL 35476.
