Growing up in the Yellow Creek community, Olen always had a big heart for every person, being a great musician; he spent his life playing the guitar with so many friends and his lead soloist Judy. His passion was country gospel and bluegrass music. Traveling around most of Tuscaloosa there are not many places that does not have the handprints of Olen's carpentry work on them. From churches to businesses to homes, he put his master work into so many places all over Tuscaloosa. Most importantly he truly was a man of God that loved his family. He was a father that loved his daughters, his sons, and grandchildren, and one very special niece was Renee Robertson who held a dear place in his heart, and he was a husband that provided and earned for his queen and bride of over 50 years, Judy.
Olen, Daddy, Paw Paw you will be greatly missed, grab that guitar, get warmed up, start Mama's mansion like you promised, we're right behind you, until we meet again.
