Age 74 A Beautiful Wife, Mom, and Nana The world said goodbye today to a wonderful woman with admirable strength, wisdom and beauty. She left behind a legacy of love that her family will carry on. Peacefully went to Heaven on January 31, 2013, and was met and guided by her daughter Debra. She was born on September 20, 1938, in St. Thomas, MN, to Ralph and Agnes Hayford. Family was her passion. It was a privilege to have received her love, enveloping comfort, words of wisdom and the recipes to her delicious food. Her life consisted of caring for others; she opened her home and heart to care for many beyond her family. As she lovingly raised her own children, many other tiny feet experienced her love while she provided daycare. Although she most enjoyed time with her family, Marge also loved to spend time in her garden with her flowers and losing herself in many good books, curled up on the couch. She was a true and loyal confidant, a constant warm presence and the center of a beautiful and special family. Marge touched the lives of many; her love and passion extended far beyond that of her family. She was preceded in death by daughter Debra Beckius (Hallum). Survived by her devoted husband Jerry of fifty-seven years, and two children, Pamela Hallum, and Mike (Cheryl) Hallum; sister, Mary (Rick) Keenan and brother, Ralph (Sheryl) Hayford; grandchildren: Chastity Beckius, Derek Bastyr, Brandon Hallum, Joshua Bastyr, Dustin Beckius and Brittany Hallum, great-grandchildren: Dawson, Blake, Hunter, Breanna and Caden and many nephews and nieces. These words do very little to paint the picture of who "Nana" truly was. She will be carried in our hearts, wrapped in rich layers of loving memories and fiercely missed by us all. At Margery's request, there will be no Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I knew Margery and Jerry when they lived in Chadwick Park in Savage. I was a single mom and they were very friendly and helpful neighbors. Margery was always quick to invite me in and give me a cup of coffee. I loved to walk over to her backyard and see all the lovely ornate flowering gardens she developed with her next door neighbor. The blooms were magnificent and tended so well. I had never seen such beautiful gardens. I was sorry to see them move away after only a few years. She was a talented and hospitable woman who always made me feel at home.

I knew Margery as a child, living with her Aunt Myrtle & Uncle Peter Peltier.I met Marge's sister Mary in school and we became friends and thru Mary met her family and married her cousin Ted Peltier [that passed in 1987] Marge was a delightful girl and usually had a smile. My heart & prayers go out to her family.
