McLEAN, Malcolm  
Age 87 Of St. Paul Died peacefully in his home on November 19, 2014. He was born on April 23, 1927 in Duluth, MN to Charles Russell McLean and Mildred Washburn. He graduated from Yale University and had a distinguished career in the Foreign Service. He was President of Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin from 1971-1987. He later moved to St. Paul where he was President of the United Arts Council, before forming a long association with Compatible Technologies International. He is survived by Wendy, his beloved wife of 58 years; children, Ian (Margaret), Lincoln, NE; Hugh (Mary Beth), Elmhurst, IL; and Christopher (Nancy), Berkeley, CA and grandchildren Katherine, Kevin, Derek, Eileen, Reed, and Helen. Preceded in death by his brothers, Russell and John and sister, Carol. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 11am at the Macalester Plymouth Church, 1658 Lincoln Avenue, St. Paul, MN. Private interment. No visitation.

MILLER, Dr. Gordon R.  
Beloved Father Grandfather & Great Grandfather Gordon passed away on November 20, 2014 in Roseville, MN. Funeral services will be held at ST. CHRISTOPHER'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 2300 N. Hamline Ave, Roseville, at 12 Noon on Monday, November 24 with visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Gordon was born on July 6, 1930 to Gordon and Esther Miller. He married Adora DeLano on August 29, 1953. He is survived by his son, Kenton (Rosalyn); and daughter, Cynthia (Reid Johnson); 3 grandchildren, Brianna (Eric Fischer), Aaron Johnson (Mary Elizabeth), and Lizzy (Alex Larson); great-granddaughter, Maribelle Fischer. MILLER, Mildred Ann  
Died November 20, 2014 Preceded in death by parents, Henry & Mildred Miller, brother and sister-in-law, Henry & Mary Alice Miller and dear lifelong friend, Margaret Lundgren. Mildred graduated from Hamline University in 1943 and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Amaranth and the Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem and member of the Daughters of the Nile. Funeral service Monday, November 24 at 11:00AM at BRADSHAW, 1078 Rice Street. Interment Oakland Cemetery. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. MULCAHY, Thomas Ryan  
Age 87, of Arden Hills Passed away November 16, 2014. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. and Corinne Ryan Mulcahy; his sister, Margaret Shaw (1986) and brother, Francis Ryan Mulcahy (1991); and nephew, Kevin Mulcahy (2014). Tom attended Basilica School and The Blake School. He served in the Navy in WWII. He earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1949 and a Law Degree from the University in 1952. Following graduation from Law School, he was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a JAG Officer. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta and Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Tom began his legal career in 1952 with the Pillsbury Company Law Department and was named Assistant Secretary and Director of Public Affairs in 1964. In 1969, he was appointed General Secretary and Director of Development at Macalester College and served there for 4 years. He joined the Graco Inc. Law Department in 1973 and served as Assistant Secretary, Secretary and General Counsel for the company. He retired in 1991. He was elected to the City Council of Arden Hills in 1982, serving a 2-year term and was active on the city's finance, planning and parks committees for over 20 years. An ardent historian and geneologist, Tom very much enjoyed pursuing his interest in family history. He is survived by his friend, Richard G. Schifsky of Arden Hills; nephews, Frank R. (Mary) Shaw of Shorewood, Tully (Nancy) Mulcahy of Edina, Ryan (Sheila) Mulcahy of Madison, WI, Mark (Marcie Neurer) Mulcahy of Cumberland, WI; niece, Grace (Pat) Timmons of Edina; also survived by Ruth Mulcahy of St. Paul; and 19 grand nephews and nieces. Mass of Christian Burial, 12 PM Monday, November 24th, at the Basilica of St. Mary, Hennepin Ave. @ 17th Street, Minneapolis. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Mpls. MYERS, Lyman H.  
Age 67, passed away November 18, 2014 after a courageous six year battle with cancer. He was born April 6, 1947 in St. Paul, MN. He was a proud member of the Pipefitters Local 455. He is preceded in death by parents Adelaide & Lyman Sr.; sister MaryJo; & brother-in-law Kalman. Lyman, with his infectious smile, will be sorely missed by his dedicated wife, Pat; former wife, Barbara; daughter Leah; son Lyman III (Angela); step-daughter Andrea (Carlos); grandchildren Kiara, Kalena, Kya & Lyman IV. Lyman is also survived by his sisters Leora (Dubby), Georgianna (Charles), Ethel (Eric), Mary 'Lutze' & Adelaide; pets Cody & Sam; the 'butts' Rudy & Sasha; also by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews & friends. Obituaries from the Past Week

MARKOE, James A.  
Of Alexandria, Virginia Previously of White Bear Lake and Wayzata, MN Died November 11, 2014. He was born May 25, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland, and was raised on Lincoln Avenue in Saint Paul. He attended Cretin High School, graduating in 1944. He spent the next two years crossing the Atlantic seventeen times on Liberty Ships carrying supplies to Europe and returning soldiers to America. After the war he attended Georgetown University for a year, followed by a year as assistant to the U.S. Ambassador in Havana, Cuba. The next several years he worked for the Great Northern Railroad before returning to school at the University of Minnesota, graduating with an accounting degree. He was a CPA and worked for Broeker Hendrickson, as well as Pillsbury, and International Milling, until joining the State of Minnesota where he worked for over twenty years as an auditor. He was a man of integrity, not easily swayed by changing times and values. Known to be taciturn, when he did speak, it was often wise and insightful. He had a wry sense of humor and a wonderful smile. He was passionate about his Catholic faith, and enjoyed history and genealogy. Preceded in death by parents Francis and Ruth Markoe, brothers Francis (Maureen) and Stephen, and daughter Helen Marie. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian B. Markoe, children Elizabeth, James, Jr. (Sarah-Jane), and Charlotte, granddaughters Julia, Anastacia, and Lucia, and brothers Richard (Jean), John, (Shirley), David (Mary), and Peter (Marion). There will be a visitation and rosary at Murphy Funeral Home in Arlington, Monday, November 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and a funeral Mass at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 18 at St. Agnes Church in Arlington, Virginia. There will be a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul, Minnesota at a later date. Notification to follow.
