JAEGER, William "Bill"
Age 91 ~ Of Bloomington Passed away at home with family, May 16, 2016. Bill was born in Dyersville, IA. He grew up with a loving family and a passion for baseball. He entered Iowa State University. His studies were interrupted when he joined the Navy during World War II. Upon his return he graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering and remained forever a loyal Cyclone. It was at Iowa State he met the love of his life, Alice Lee Elwood. They were married just short of 65 years. In spite of his illness they remained together at home until his passing. Bill worked for Kraus-Anderson for 50 years helping to build one of the premiere construction firms in the Midwest. He loved construction and especially the many friends and colleagues he came to know over the years. Bill's greatest joy was his family. He was a fiercely proud father and grandfather and loved spending time with and sharing stories of the exploits and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Bill lived a life of faith and led by example, helping others whenever possible. He saw the best in people, had a zest for life and always an infectious smile and twinkle in his eye. He will be dearly missed. JEWELL, Ralph Walter
Age 79, of Mendota Heights, MN Passed away May 15, 2016 Born November 4, 1936 in St. Paul, MN to George and Minnie Jewell. Survived by wife Kathryn (Kae) Lovaas Jewell; son Andy (Sarah) Jewell; grandsons Will and Aidan Jewell; daughter Ellen (Gary) Jewell-Matson; sisters Gretchen Pulley and Georgia (Dave) Kelm; many nieces, nephews and friends. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman. He loved gardening, fishing, boating, skiing and bird hunting. Some of his favorite times were spent with family and best friends enjoying these hobbies. Ralph also was an entrepreneur by nature. He started as a farmer in his teenage years and during college he and his frat brothers started a small business as a way to fund their college expenses. Ralph's first career was as a manager for IDS. During his IDS days, he and his dad started acquiring residential rental properties and turned it into a thriving, three-generation business. One of his many legacies will be the people in his life whom he mentored in the business of owning and managing rental properties. In 2007, Ralph was diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment that led to Alzeheimer's Disease. True to his personality, he was a happy and active person for many years of his diagnosis. Those who cared for him loved being with him and being the recipients of his constant "thank yous" and big, wonderful smile. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzeheimer's Research through ALZ.org . Funeral service will be Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 11am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 700 Wesley Lane, Mendota Heights, MN. Public visitation will be Friday, May 20, from 5pm-8pm at Nokomis Park Chapel and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will take place later at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. www.washburn-mcreavy.com Nokomis Park Chapel (612)721-1651 1838 E. Minnehaha Parkway
