O'DONNELL, Laura Catherine  
Age 59, of Bloomington, MN, passed away on April 29, 2015. Preceded in death by her father Francis (Frank) O'Donnell. Survived by her mother, Marlene (Marti) O'Donnell, sisters Elizabeth (Joseph) Gorman and Margaret (Brad) Klinzman; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends, who knew her as a kind soul. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Normandale Community College, both in Bloomington, MN. She then went on to serve as a medic in the US Air Force for six years. After returning to Bloomington, she continued her work in the medical field, as a Certified Medical Assistant, until her passing. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9th, at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 9401 Nesbitt Ave. S, Bloomington. 10 AM visitation and 11 AM service, followed by luncheon. PALFALVI, Betty Ann  
Age 70 of St. Paul Died peacefully in her sleep on 24 April 2015. Welcomed into heaven by her mother, Ina Dorothy Burger Nelson, her father, Roger Carlton Nelson and her husband, Laszlo Palfalvi. She leaves behind her brother, Dennis Gene Nelson, a daughter, Sherry Jean Palfalvi, a son and daughter-in-law, John Allen and Natalie Palfalvi and three granddaughters, Adrianna Marie, Alexandria Eve and Eva Lynn. Betty was born in Marietta, GA. on 20 May 1944. She grew up and spent her life in Roseville and St. Paul, MN. Betty graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School, 1962. She went on to earn her BA in Education at St. Cloud State University, 1967 and a Masters in Education at the University of Minnesota, 1999. She worked as an adult special education teacher and librarian for Anoka-Metro Regional Treatment Center for more than 30 years. Betty was a loving mother and sister. She enjoyed travel, needlework and genealogy, tracing her family as far back as 1811. The Memorial service will be on 9 May 2015 at 11am at the Roselawn Cemetery Chapel in Roseville, MN.

PHILLIPS, Seth R.  
Age 93 of St. Paul died April 25, 2015 An athlete and graduate of Denfeld HS in Duluth, Seth served as a WWII pilot in the Pacific theater. He married Patricia Roberts and had four children. He represented Cass County in the MN House from 1955-56 and graduated in 1961 from the U of MN Law School. Seth was the Executive Secretary of the St. Paul Fair Employment Practices Commission from 1961-67, which he helped transform into the St. Paul Human and Civil Rights Commission. As Co-Chairman of the National Association of Intergroup Relations Officials, Seth drafted model federal civil rights legislation which passed at their 1963 convention, much of which became part of the federal Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965. He went into private practice of law, was divorced and, in 1980, married his present wife Lorraine Blake and had twins. Seth worked as an arbitrator, assistant director of Ramsey Washington County Resource Recovery Project, then worked as a consultant until his retirement. He loved his family and friends, music (especially bassoon), chess, horses, dogs, trains and peace. Seth was an indefatigable advocate for justice, equality and the underdog. Preceded in death by parents Martin and Bertha Cottingham Phillips; siblings Leland, Norma Carkhuff and Jessie Anderson; and daughter Roberta. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Lorraine; ex-wife Patricia; children Vicky (Rich) Hickson, Seth Phillips III, Cassandra (Albis) Murillo, Bevan and Martin Phillips; stepchildren Torben (Angela) Kiese, and Dara Kiese; grandchildren Evelyn (Michael) Egstad and Renee (Richard) Butkus; step grandchildren Dylan Kiese and Arlo Cyran; and great-grandchildren Richard, Raymond and Emma Butkus. SERVICE: Memorial service is at 7 p.m. May 22 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2335 Edgerton St., Little Canada, Minn. A celebration of Seth's life will be held the following day at 5 p.m. May 23 at Jimmy's Food & Drink Event Center, 3565 Labore Rd., Vadnais Heights, MN (light refreshments).

PIZINGER, Milton Raymond  
June 18, 1928 - April 26, 2015 Milton was born in St. Paul, MN and passed peacefully at his home in Irvine California. He attended Cretin-Derham High School and St. Thomas University and served proudly in the U.S. Navy. In 1961, he moved his family to California. He was a son, father, husband, business leader and mentor. He will be missed by all.
