Ann Marie (Votel) FASHINGBAUER

Of St. Paul On March 15, 2013 Preceded in death by parents Anna and Henry and brothers Henry, Bill, Ben, Pete and Jack. Lovingly missed by Edward, husband of 70 years, brother Dr. Tom Votel, and children Edward H., Claudia, Drew, Clio (Carl) McLagan, Anne (Tom) Howard, David, Gael (Rob) Cooper. Also survived by grandchildren Erin, Molly and Maggie McLagan; April, Christian and Heidi Fashingbauer; Josh, Annie (Miller) and Samantha Howard and Kelly Cooper; 4 great-grandchildren and many close friends and relatives. Special thanks to Dr. Steven Bergeson and nurse Linda Christensen. Memorial service 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (3/20) with visitation one hour prior at CHURCH OF ST. ODILIA, 3495 Victoria St N., Shoreview. Born in Frogtown, Ann graduated from Washington High School and at the young age of 73, graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in history. Ann loved her family, coffee with extra Coffeemate, British TV shows "New Tricks" and "Last of the Summer Wine," poet Carl Sandburg, listening to Alberta Hunter, columnist Leon Hale, caring for abandoned animals, the State Fair, walking around the lakes, her Irish roots, St. Paul in the days of the streetcars and before Town Square, and libraries that didn't charge late fees. In Ann's memory, check out a library book and enjoy it a few days past the due date.
