1918-2013 Elizabeth Blackwell Brooks Berg, 94, of Providence RI died February 21, 2013. Born November 16, 1918, daughter of the late John N. Brooks and Bessie Lyon Brooks of Trenton NJ. She was married for 67 years to the late Carl John Berg. Survived by her children Axel Berg II (Mary) of Falmouth ME, Mary Berg Hollinshead (William) of Rehoboth MA, Anne Berg (Gil Preston) of North Yarmouth ME, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. After graduating from the College of New Jersey she taught elementary school, married, and moved to St. Paul. where she and her family lived for 30 years. She had leadership roles in AFS, the Century Club, the League of Women Voters, and St. Clement's Episcopal Church, especially in community outreach to underserved children. After updating her training with an M.A. from St. Thomas in 1976, she taught children with learning issues in White Bear Lake. In 1984, she and John retired to West Falmouth MA, where she continued her involvement in the Episcopal Church, in community service at the Falmouth Service Center, and with the West Falmouth Library. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23 at 1 PM at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 50 Orchard Avenue Providence RI.
