Gayle Evon (Lewis) GRAHAM

Age 84 of Mendota Heights, MN, died Jan. 29, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John C. Lewis and Armada B. (Wyatt) Lewis. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ralph; son, Randall; daughter, Lisa Graham-Peterson (Frank Bakke); and grandsons, Maximilian and Benjamin Peterson. Born in Omaha, Gayle's family moved to Sioux City, IA, in 1933. Her love of books, music, dance & theater started in her youth & stayed with her all of her life. Involved at the start of the Sioux City Community Theater, she was active for 18 years in many volunteer roles, including on its board for 10 years where she was key in helping SCCT procure a permanent home. After moving the family to MN, Gayle volunteered at the MN Science Museum & discovered a new passion: genealogy. She & Ralph enjoyed decades of travel together, including more than 30 global spots originally part of the family tree research before one could do it all online. A passionate bird-watcher, gardener & crossword puzzle fan, she will be deeply missed. Many thanks to HealthEast Hospice for their integrity & guidance. Celebration of life service for Gayle will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 1575 Charlton Av, W. St. Paul.
