Gordon H. Anderson

Born 8/25/1913 in St Paul Died 7/20/2011 in Bayport Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret and brother, Kenneth. Survived by Mark Henderson of Golden Valley and Judy Matherne of Outing MN, Ken Anderson of Lakeland MN, Joyce Edwards of Tampa FL and Nancy Halberg of St Paul. Longtime employee of First Bank, Gordy served as the unofficial First Bank computer, before there were such things as computers. A WWII Veteran, Captain Anderson's unit was part of the ADSEC support group for the 1ST US Army, where he earned battle engagement credits in four different conflicts from Normandy Beach to Fulda, Germany. Gordy hand built his own cabin on Bone Lake in Wisconsin, and there he and his wife Marge spent many happy summers and weekends for nearly the next 40 years. Gordy and Marge resided for many years in the Connemara Condominiums in Maplewood, where he served as Treasurer of the Association on different occasions. Thanks to the Presbyterian Homes: staff at Croixdale Assisted Living where Gordy spent his final months, and a very special thanks to the loving friends and staff at Waverley Gardens, North Oaks, who supported Gordy and made his last years much more enjoyable.
