Helen Marie (Farrell) KENNEDY

Passed away January 11, 2014 in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota Preceded in death by husband James H. Kennedy; daughter, Rosann Kennedy; parents, Julia and M. Leo Farrell; brother, Robert; sisters-in-law, Patricia Farrell and Patricia Kennedy. Survived by son, James M. Kennedy (Anita); brother-in-law, Colman Kennedy; 5 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; 5 great grandsons; and one great-great granddaughter. Helen was a graduate of Derham Hall and the College of St. Catherine. She was employed as a medical technologist. She had served as a member of the State Commission Against Discrimination, and a member of the Minnesota Veterans Home Board. She was a past national officer, state president, and District President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary; a past president of Division #3 of the Hibernian Auxiliary; a member of the Columbian Women; a professional Registered Parliamentarians; a loyal volunteer to the Little Sisters of the Poor; and a member of Eagan Historical Society. She served as Justice of the Peace of Eagan Township for 15 years. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (650 Palace Ave. St. Paul). Visitation 5-8PM Wednesday, January 15, at O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home (575 S. Snelling Ave. 651-698-0796) and 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Little Sisters of the Poor (330 Exchange St. St. Paul).
