nee Ragsdale ~ Age 64 Irene was born March 11, 1948 and died peacefully surrounded by family as she went to heaven on March 2, 2013. She is the daughter of Wilford "Jack" and Lorraine Ragsdale. Irene graduated from Central High School in Mpls., MN in 1966. After graduation she soon started working in the travel industry as a travel consultant first at Executive Travel and later as a manager at Corporate Travel Twin Cities. She purchased and operated Falcon Travel in Roseville, MN from 1993 to 1999 which fulfilled a dream of owning her own travel business. She married her husband Kenton Spading January 24, 2001 on Bequia Island in the Caribbean country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Together they loved adventure and travel and had enthusiastically visited places all over the world. Irene adored her beloved cat Blackie who loved to curl up to her. She also enjoyed reading, antiques, bird watching, gardening, movies, history, jewelry and cooking and baking. She collected antiques and displayed them throughout her home. She carefully watched the chickadees and blue birds raise their young every year in the backyard. She had a large flower garden and was proud of her irises and roses. She loved to watch movies and was an expert at movie trivia. She was famous for her baked goods and was particularly proud of her home-made pies. Wherever she traveled she visited the local bakeries to assess the goods and purchase some "treats". Irene was athletic and played on many championship volleyball and softball teams. She also enjoyed golf and won an award for most birdies in her golf league. Irene's family and friends will miss her dearly. She will be greeted warmly by her mother waiting for her at God's side. The family wishes to thank all of her friends and caregivers too numerous to mention who supported her and enjoyed her company over the years. Irene is preceded in death by her mother Lorraine, nephew Eric. Survived by her father Jack, her husband Kenton, two sisters Jackie (and Bill) Fredericks, Cindy (and Dick) Rosen, one brother Steve (and Lynette), her niece Jennifer (and Rick) Schultenover and great nephews Ashton, Jude, and Lincoln.
