James M. "Jim" GENIA

Age 48, of Shoreview Passed away peacefully on March 30 surrounded by his wife and many family members. Jim courageously fought for 2 ½ years through numerous life debilitating illnesses. He is remembered for his brilliant mind, quick wit, sense of humor, contagious smile, dedication to his work, as a loving father, wonderful husband, and as a caring and giving man. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Jim is an admired attorney, lobbyist, and judge. His is a tribal member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians (Harbor Springs, MI). He is survived by his loving wife, Kara, and their children Jackson (4), and twins Kaitlyn and Michael (1); parents Tony & Anne; sister Andrea (Terry) Sanders; brothers Tony (Traci) and Tim (Lori); many nieces and nephews; and many friends and colleagues. A gathering to remember Jim's life will be held at 11:00AM, with a Memorial Service at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, April 9, at First Baptist Church of St. Paul (499 Wacouta Street), with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to family or for his children's education funds.
