Joanne Dorr POWER

Age 92 ~ Of White Bear Lake Passed away peacefully on April 8, 2013 Born in Minneapolis on April 15, 1920 to William G. and Kate Martin Dorr, "Josie" was the eldest of two daughters. She attended Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota. She married Charles E. Power, Jr. in 1942 and they settled on Bald Eagle Lake in 1945. Joanne was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was known for years of activities with The League of Women Voters, St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal church, the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society and many more. She loved music, travel, playing tennis and skiing. Because she was a gracious host over the years to AFS students and Amity Institute Exchange teachers, she had friends worldwide. Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Power and survived by sons Charles III and Andrew, and daughter Heidi; daughter in law, Linda Power, son in law Gordon A. McLean III, and three grandchildren Ryan Power, Madeline and Anabelle McLean. Burial service is on Wednesday, April 17, 1:00 pm at St. John in the Wilderness, 2175 1st Street, White Bear Lake MN.
