August 26, 1919 - November 21, 2012 Keith Ford Hammett passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 93. He was born in Brainerd, Minnesota to parents John and Merle (Ford) Hammett, graduated from North St. Paul High School, was married 64 years to Bette Lowenberg, of South St. Paul. He proudly served as an Army
Air Force Staff Sergeant 1942-1945. A pioneer resident of Mendota Hts., he was an expert craftsman and home-builder. Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Bette, son Scott and brother, Jack. He is survived by sister, Beverly Newman; children Barbara (Robert) Hoene, Suzann (Frank) Logan, Mary Lipton, Robert (Becky) Hammett, Lesa (Maile) Hammett; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. As a devoted husband and father, Keith will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering faith, and his contagious optimism that inspired all who knew him. The family would like to acknowledge the cherished lifelong friends of our parents. We appreciate and extend a special thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at the Alton, where Dad enjoyed his last few years, and the beautiful, caring hearts and service of the St. Mary's Hospice staff.
