age 73 passed away on March 24, 2014 after a long struggle with kidney cancer. Ken, a graduate of St. Thomas College, married Maureen Baumgartner in Albany, Minnesota on June 1, 1968. They have two daughters Megan and Shannon to whom he was very devoted. Ken was a long time resident of St. Paul and loved spending time on Madeline Island. He was an avid gardener and never stopped planting and transplanting trees and plants in St. Paul and at his home on Madeline Island. He also had a wonderful voice and sang tenor in the St. Cecilia's choir. Professionally he was Vice-President of C. U. Companies and managed the underwriting and quality control for residential mortgages. Previously he worked in real estate and retail management. Ken was very devoted to his career and maintained friendships with his former colleagues. He was preceded in death by parents Blanche and James Curran and his brother Donald Curran. He is survived by his wife, Maureen, daughters Megan Nieto (Johnny) and Shannon Kinning (Tom) and granddaughters Madeline and Olivia Kinning. A special thanks to the staff at Sholom Home for providing loving care at the end of his life. Visitation at O'Halloran and Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave, So, St. Paul from 4 to 8PM on Friday March 28, 2014. There will be a second visitation at the Church of St. Cecilia, 2357 Bayless Place, from 10 to 11AM on Saturday, March 29 with Mass of Christian Burial to follow.
