Leo H. HERMES Jr.

Age 92, of St. Paul Passed Away December 18, 2013 Preceded in death by wife, Frances; parents, Leo Sr. and Susanna; 6 brothers and 2 sisters; and special friend, Margaret Krenik. Survived by children, Suzanne (Patrick) Shearen, Leo Hermes III, Patricia Harris, Joanne (Bruce) Boyer and Mary Frances Hermes; 11 grandchildren, Angie, Karen, Rebecca and Mark Hermes, Sean (Andrea) and Chris (Jamie) Donovan, Nick, Nate (Jessica) and Matt Boyer, Molly Hermes and Emily Sherwood; 6 great grandchildren, Adam, Zack, Jacob, Tommy, Peyton and Stella; beloved sister, Mary Pat (Robert) Wussler; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday, Dec. 26th at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL FUNERAL HOME, 536 N. Snelling Ave., St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM (visitation 9-10AM) Friday, Dec. 27th at CHURCH OF ST. COLUMBA, Lafond and Hamline Ave., St. Paul. Interment Roselawn Cemetery. Leo was a graduate of Mechanic Arts High School and St. Thomas College. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, and was a member of American Legion Post #8 St. Paul. He was a 33 year employee of St. Paul Terminal Warehouse and successor companies. He was a member of St. Agnes Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, Baseball Old Timers' Hot Stove League and the Old Guard at the University of St. Thomas. Leo was an all around athlete, excelled at baseball and was an avid bowler and golfer. Memorials preferred to St. Columba Church, Franciscan Brothers of Peace or donor's choice.
