Age 70 Passed Away on April 22 Lynn had a passion for music, arts, history, business and a love of the outdoors -- particularly the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. Lynn went to Minnetonka High School, was an Eagle Scout, Merit Scholar, and an AFS student studying in Norway. Lynn graduated from Yale University and went on to Stanford University to receive an MBA. He served for 4 years as officer in the U.S. Navy. Lynn was married, raised two children in Pebble Beach, CA and managed a medical laboratory. The family regularly skied and camped in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and had a close group of family friends that often got together for holidays and picnics known as "The Beach Group." In the summer of 1984, Lynn moved back to reside in St. Paul. Lynn's appreciation of music, arts and his morning pursuit of the perfect coffee are where many friends and acquaintances were made. He had uncanny knowledge of music history, religion and world matters that were the foundation of many exhaustive conversations with friends and strangers over a cup of coffee. He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin L. Peterson in 2000. He is survived by his mother, Nell Peterson of Bloomington. Lynn's son, Mark, and his wife Mia live in Carmel Valley, California with children Isabel and Jake. Lynn's daughter, Sarah, and her husband Grailing live in Pasadena, California with their daughter Marlo. His brother Joel (wife Pat) and their children Jill (husband Chad and son Lincoln) and Jane (husband Eric) all live in St. Paul. Committal will be held at Ft. Snelling on June 25 at 10:45 a.m., Assembly Area 2, followed by a luncheon memorial service at The Cherokee Tavern in W. St. Paul at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance or the Point Lobos Foundation.
