Unique and Loved Age 59 Resident of Lake Elmo Survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Amy, and many, many friends. Mike's career as a welder at L.A. Sowles Big Ironworker Co. ended with the diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease in 2001. For the next 12 years his battle with this disease was filled with ups and downs but, always faced with his determination to stay strong. Mike's passions were fishing, hunting, and anything else he could do outdoors. He had a remarkable creative talent which resulted in his building log splitters, a backyard pond/waterfall, pig roasters, you name it, he would figure out how to make it. Planning and cooking for picnics at his home which, inevitably ended in his (quite good actually) Karaoke assisted impersonation of Elvis gave him great pleasure. Mike passed away 2-13-2013 due to a heart attack thus beating his arch enemy Parkinson's in the end. His strength and courage throughout his life, his love for his wife Amy, his humor and friendship towards so many made him this "Unique" man who will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held today, Sunday 2-17 (Mike's 59th Birthday) at the Reinhardt home in Lake Elmo from 2 to 4 PM.
