Milo Gronseth

GRONSETH Milo Grant Born Nov. 27, 1933, in Sioux Falls, SD Called Home to be with his Lord on January 16, 2013. Preceded in death by brother, Roger; sister, Evangeline. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Charlotte; daughter, Lisa (John) Mittelsteadt; sons, John (Betsy) & Daniel; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters, Darlene Olson & Pauline Attrash; brother, David; also many nieces, nephews & cousins. Milo lived a life of compassionate ministry. He served 8 years as a missionary in Taiwan and pastored several congregations, including Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in So. Mpls (16 yrs.) and Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel (6 yrs.) The latter had special meaning to Milo as he had served with the U.S. Army Intelligence Corp. for 2 years in Germany. Milo's preparation for ministry included a B.A. from St. Olaf College and a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul. He also earned an M.A. from London University's School of Oriental and African Studies. In his later years Milo co-founded the Hospitality Center for Chinese (HCC) which served visiting students and scholars from China, and also China Service Ventures (CSV), with outreach in China. Milo loved life, enjoying nature, music, sports and travel. He treasured family and friends. His family is deeply grateful for all the love received throughout his illness, particularly for the fine and loving care received at Timber Hills and through HealthEast Hospice. Memorial Service 11 AM Saturday. Visitation 8:30-11 AM prior to the service at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 7160 South Robert Trail, Inver Grove Heights. Private interment. Memorials preferred to China Service Ventures or the Hospitality Center for Chinese. 651-455-2035
