Richard A. MILLER

"Dick" ~ "Lefty" Age 80, of Roseville Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 12, 2013. Dick is survived by his wife, Sally (nee Laffen) Miller; Children: Bruce (Michelle) Bonine, Steve Bonine, Suzie (Dan) Sprick, Patty (Mike) Kirchner, Craig Bonine (Susan Bonine); Barb (Mark) Newman; Grandchildren: Jessica (Chad) Sanders, Jamie (Ryan) Hanford, Dan Lukas, Gretchen Mattson, Tim (Stacey) Bonine, Mark (Christie) Newman, Nikki (Adam) DeQuesada, Crystal Kirchner, Jeff (Kim) Sprick, Bobby (Jenna) Bonine, Melissa Kirchner, Krissy Bonine, Tommy (Ashley) Bonine, Stephanie (Will) Ruckel, Desirae Newman, Katie Bonine, Becky Sprick, Amber Newman, Whitney Kirchner, Sarah Sprick; Great-Grandchildren: Clayton, Nolan, Hailey, Ezra, Alison, Jayden, Caitlin, Claira, Lukas, Owen, Matthew, Leilani, Logan, Jack; Sister, Marilyn Kiefner; Sister-in-law, Sue Weleczki; Aunt, Rosemary (Jaime) Calva; Special cousins: Bev, Sharon, Shirley; Nieces & nephews: Weleczkis, Laffens, Calvas, Kiefners, and Smiths. Dick is preceded in death by his Parents, Anthony and Louise Miller; Sister, Ann (Walt) Smith; Brother-in-law, Larry Kiefner; Mother-in-law, Vera Laffen; Uncle, Harry Lindquist; Brother-in-law Ron (Marlene) Laffen; and Brother-in-law, Charles Weleczki. Dick was born in St. Paul on February 4, 1933, and grew up in the Rice Street neighborhood. Lefty was a three-sport star at Washington High School and received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Minnesota. Dick spent most of his career at Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant. He was an avid Twins and Gophers fan, and had all the answers to their woes. He traveled the Twin Cities supporting his grandchildren's activities and sporting events. He knew every word to every Christmas carol and was known for skipping a few pages of his annual Christmas story reading. And no meal was complete without a double dessert. The family wishes to thank hospice caregivers Fumiko Opland and Melanie Rachel. Memorial Service 11:30 AM Thursday, July 18, (Visitation 10:00-11:30 AM) at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL, 515 W. Hwy 96, at Mackubin, Shoreview. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sally Miller will be gifted to the on behalf of Richard Miller.
